We donate school equipment to special needs schools and students as the need comes to our attention. We are providing a chapter 40th Anniversary Bursary to a graduate of an adult learning centre continuing on to college. We support Montgomery's Inn, a local museum, by partnering with them on special events that support their "Theatre-In-Education" program to bring local history to life for elementary school children. We participate in IODE Canada’s Adopt-A-Class program by providing school supplies, books and personal items to a school in a very remote area of coastal Labrador, NL.
Montgomery's Inn - 2015 Fundraiser
Friday October 23, 2015 Kathleen Drope Chapter partnered with Montgomery's Inn, historic house, to present a concert fundraiser, based on "a night out" in 1915, during the Great War. The event took place at 7.30 pm in the tea room. Folk artist, Ian Bell and a friend entertained the audience with a variety of historic favourites. Nan Brien added a few stories about soldiers on the battlefield, soldiers who saw friendly ghosts who saved their lives. At 8.30 the audience climbed the stairs to the historic kitchen and tavern where they found food fit for generals, a cash bar and more entertainment. The 36 people in attendance enjoyed themselves until about 10.00 pm.
At $40.00 a ticket, $1440.00 was given back to the inn for their educational, hands-on food programmes for teenagers. Overall the project was a great success.

School and craft supplies, activity books, seasonal treats for students and teachers, sports equipment, books for libraries, VCRs, computer software, disposable cameras, Lego, knitting yarn and needles, clocks, globes, are just a some of the goods that have been sent at the requests of the teachers.
