Welcome to the IODE Kathleen Drope Chapter
Our IODE chapter celebrated 40 years of service to Canada in 2016. In addition to our customary good deeds, we awarded a commemorative 40th anniversary bursary to an adult student completing high school. The successful candidate was selected from those entering a medical/health related program at the post-secondary level.
The members of Kathleen Drope Chapter live in Toronto and Mississauga. Since our inception in 1976, we have shared the joy of helping children, women and men locally and in distant places. We offer opportunities for educational experiences, donations of food, clothing and household items, and encouragement to young and new Canadians. By clicking on the "Our Work" section, you can see the focus of our activities. Raising and spending money leads to friendships that last through the decades; a bonus of volunteerism. New members are always welcome. The picture above features the Howard Memorial Gates in Toronto’s High Park. Westminster Chapter, now disbanded, funded the gates in 1914 and it was our privilege to represent IODE at the 100th Anniversary celebration. IODE Canada
IODE Canada is a national women's charitable organization. Women of all ages, from all walks of life and educational backgrounds, meet in local chapters for fun, friendship and community volunteerism.
Members volunteer with and for people, focusing on Children, Education and Community Services. Each IODE chapter has the independence to choose and support projects in their own community. If you have just a few hours to spare monthly, you can make a difference and form lifelong friendships. IODE membership is many things to many people. It is this diversification that holds the interest of the members and attracts others to it. What other organization has so much to offer to so many and in such different age groups? The main benefit of belonging to IODE is being part of a like-minded group of women who work together to improve the quality of life for those in need. The National Chapter of Canada
